Sonoff Door Sensor issues?

Sonoff sensors dropping connectivity

I bought a couple of cheap sonoff sensors (temp/humidity and a secondary door sensor), the door sensor is within a few feet of some more expensive door sensors and motion sensors which have stayed rock solid and connected constantly for 18 months, the sonoff door sensor doesnt stay connected for more than a few days. The one on the door next to it has 3 hops until it hits the hub the cheap sonoff goes direct, why? Could this be causing the issue? Can i force hops?
