Are you still having this problem because it looks like it has not gone away for me either and devices still say"offline" in home monitor when they are all working fine. Nothing useful came from contacting support about the issue.
Yesterday I see a bad time sunset in my IDE (i have Smartlighting app installed) sunset correct in my country now is 21:010 but yesterday whrn My light in the entrance door tourn on in the afternoom, I check in the ide and sunset time was 15:06 . After 2 hours the problem was solve automaticly. I have not changed anything, just deleted and rewritten an automation but without any changes, after 2 hours everything was resolved. I think they are working in the IDE
The smart lighting app uses the weather station app to determine the sunset and sunrise time of the location where it is installed and there may have been IDE update problems.
By clicking on it you can see historical and current sunset and sunrise.
I upgraded all my smart lighting automations to smartthings automations, but did not uninstall it.
Smartthings automations use data from The Weather Channel website for each location.
And they are effectively independent of the hours shown in IDE.
Thanks, itās not very clear to me, I just donāt change anything, since everything has settled by itself.
Sorry if I was not very clear, I just wanted to say, that if you use smart lighting app automations, it will use the sunset and sunrise data shown in IDE.
If you use automations from smartthings app it doesnāt use the IDE data.
Thanks! I knew I had seen it somewhere but could not find again. And I suspect the reason is that I was looking for a way to edit the āFavorites pageā, where this status stuff appears - and my brain could not think to look under āshow status informationā for that knob since it is more logical to find it under the edit favorites option. Inverting the order of those two (easy to do) might be better, or somehow flagging the top row as āstatusā on the favorites page itself.
Hello,
Iām having trouble adding back āMobile Presenceā via the new app. When I do this, the device type shows as āPlaceholderā and the added device does nothing. The old āmobile presenceā device was still there but not functioning in the new app.
I deleted everything related Mobile Phones, Mobile Presence, etc. Unfortunately, when I add them back via the new app, it still ends up as a āPlaceholderā device type.
Has anybody got this working?
Any advice?
Thanks,
John
Placeholder is what you will see for phone presence sensors in IDE
Do you know how I can use this in WebCore?
add it to your webcore instance > settings > available devices > available devices > Select devices by capability and go to capability group 2 > which presence sensors
Perfect⦠Thanks jkp. I looked yesterday at capability group 2 but must have missed it.
In the new app, if you go under your location to manage your location mode, It is very finicky. If you choose a different mode, it will not stick you have to do it multiple times for it to stick.
I have the same issue, is there a known solution? I have v2 Hub so as far as I know it is still supported
I followed the suggestions from another thread.
- Reboot hub - did not fix the issue
- Signed out and sign back in - i was stuck after logging in no devices and spinning prompt
3 Remove the app and deleted the data. After signing back it all the devices were accessible.
Hope this helps. #3 worked for me, but understand that not for all.
Who can explain more about local automations?
- Local automations going public
I realized that many automations could be made local with the new app
I did it very well with the smartapp smartlighthing, all my light automations are locally.
I did not understand, however, for traditional automations, what they must use to be able to be locally. None of my normal automations show up as local. some use, cell phone localization, virtual switch, sunrise-sunset, home or away from home mode change. Maybe some or all of these things are not compatible?
Did you login to IDE and verify that all your smart lighting rules were running as local vs cloud?
Login to IDE and verify your virtual switches are local. I believe they also need to be assigned to a hub.
Items that I believe do not run locally at this time:
Any use of notifications
Phone location
STHM
Any device that is not using one of the ST device handlers that is compatible with the hub firmware
@nathancu responds to these questions so he can fill in any I missed or any that I incorrectly posted above.
So the device - must use a SmartThings provided DTH that is marked to run locally and is loaded in the hub. (This is an identical requirement to SmartLighting - so if you have SmartLighting automations that run local this wont change)
From there certain actions still canāt do local - in addition to the list above - imagine if thereās a need to notify or reach out to the Internet for any reason for your action - it wont run locally. That part wont change.
They do indeed⦠Virtual switches do not get assigned to your hub by default - but if you use the default ST provided vswitch, go to the IDE and edit the device to assign it to your hub after adding it
Actually this one does, also an offset from sunrise/ sunset works too. (Says my 30 minutes before sunset automation)
If you add in the condition that a device maintains the state āxā time, it is not executed as local
Excuse me, I donāt know how to quote part of a previous post, but I reply to @jkp and @nathancu whom I thank for the help. I hope not to go very offtopic
Yes, from the ide I verified that all the automations made with smarthlightingh work locally and I see it written.
This is one of my virtual switches, I think I have well understood that it works locally and be associated with my hub from what I see in the IDE.
At this point I believe that all my automations do not work locally because they have notifications related to them.
But I donāt understand for this automation for example, because I donāt see the local indicator.
Do I have to do it all over again? Given the rule, although in Italian I hope it is clear, if position is āLinda Dormeā and āSoffitto camera Lindaā turn ON, than Change position in "CASA"and turn off virtual device āLinda Dormeā. This should all be correct for local use, but it appears not to be.
You do need to have saved the Automations since local execution was enabled. I find the quickest way to do that is to add a space to the end of the name. It lets you save the Automation but the trailing space you just added gets removed.
