I’m one of those non coding/ just a medium experience with Smartthings people. I use SmartTiles on my iMac, but one of these days want to set up about a 9inch DigiLand tablet that i have in my kitchen.
Curious, does anybody know what the big advantages are going to be with the new SmartTiles update? The main thing I will want to do is switch to different screens. For example; basic main page to weather or battery status or video. Maybe you can already do that.
You can already do that.
You are allowed up to 5 different dashboards and can link to the other dashboards, allowing you to separate them however you need or see fit.

You didn’t hear it from me, but the big changes are mostly in the backend for efficiency (and laying the groundwork for much more flexibility for feature growth), and, a web/browser based configuration UI replacing the tiny awkward SmartApp Preferences pages in the SmartThings App.
(And yes… Once we get the UI working, we’d love to tack it on to Rule Machine… But, ooops, I’m very far into speculation mode again.)

Okay something weird is happening, when I open the App on my phone, under things it’s showing ALL blank! No devices selected, infact even the Dashboard name is incorrect and it’s showing as SmartTiles[2] instead of the actual name. The dashboard on the browser is fine but I seem to lost all my settings in the SmartApp. It’s like it forgotten everything.
Anyone else seeing this? @tgauchat

Hiya - I dont seem to be able to remove the “Blank Tiles” that I randomly clicked on. I can move them about, but cant get them gone?
I click the “X” in the corner and nothing happens.
This might be a device specific issue. We will try to figure out the root cause. I presume you are tapping on the X while inside SmartThings mobile app?
Meanwhile, you can edit tile arrangement using any other browser by navigating to /list path of your dashboard, just replace the /ui bit with /list. It should work.

Well I removed smarttiles completely and re added it.
I’ve now got a few more problems -
1 - Not able to access the preferences page - Error "You do not have permission to perform that action"
2 - Unable to rename Dashboard - Error “You do not have permission to perform that action”
And to be honest - The others kind of stem from that.
Any ideas how to remove it completely and try again?
##Confirmed Problem (cause and resolution unknown)
SmartTiles is currently encountering problems. We think they may be caused by SmartThings Platform upgrades in progress, but this is unconfirmed speculation at this time. We can’t think of any other causes.
Please do not uninstall SmartTiles at this time. It is unlikely to resolve the problem.

Ahh ok - No problem - Just tried some more, it turns out all I can actually do is the following:
Add things
Nothing else works - Either get the permission issue, or “Unexpected error occurred”
Will let you know how it goes after ST have done their thing.
