Hi, i just purchased a WiFi enabled Air Conditioner and you need to use the “SmartLife-SmartHome” app which is currently not integrated or available to link to Samsung SmartThings. The normal SmartLife app is currently integrated, can I request for this other SmartLife app to also be integrated?
SmartLife-SmartHome would be responsible for providing the integration, so you need to ask them about it.
Have you tried using the regular SmartLife app or the Tuya app? Many smart home apps are powered by the Tuya platform and there devices can generally be use with SmartLife or Tuya apps.
Thanks, I will try to contact the SmartLife-SmartHome support team. I did try to connect using the normal SmartLife Tuya app with no success.
I’ll make it short:
- Create a Scene in the Smart-Life app that turns the device on and another Scene to turn it off.
- Link the SmartLife service to SmartThings.
- Scenes will appear as switches in SmartThings.
- Optional, but recommended: create a virtual switch and routines in ST, so you have an on/off switch.
Thanks for the guidance but the air conditioner uses the SmartLife-SmartHome app, not the normal SmartLife app.
That might work if OP was using smart life app. OP is using smart life-smarthome which appears to be a different app and his device doesn’t work with vanilla smartlife app. So without an integration from smartlife-smarthome to SmartThings I can’t see a straightforward solution
If your air conditioner has a handheld remote control, you could get a smart thermostat (really a remote control replacement device) that integrates with SmartThings.
I’ve had good luck with the Cielo Breez:
