I think what throws me off is when I click on add device, the first tab ask for other item… Capabilities:, Join Fingerprints:Device Handler Settings:, etc… or just copy code and publish in the copy code tab??
Do these field need to be filled in?

Through the app, do I add my log in and password or do I need to add that information within the code?
You just copy the code right in.
I signed in from the app, it asks for the information when you add the device
Great,
I copied the codes. I see SimpliSafe Alarm State…
So I need to add the Alarm system as device first? then I will be able to see the panel to pick all three options of alarm? Or did I miss a step?
I appreciate everyone’s help in this!.. I’m looking forward to setting this up and helping where I can as well in the community moving forward… =)
Ozzie
is Simplisafe Zwave compatible? So when I get home and click on Add Device, it’ll find it? or its just a manual push to remote cloud control?
I still don’t have the menu that is shown in the picture in the beginning of this thread,.
I know I missed a step… but I do see simplisafe alarm state there but I guess I need to add it first before it takes me to my log in and being able to operate it… what is the next step to make the connection between my hub and the system?
You dont even need to be home, if you have added the device code and given it your credentials, you should be able to (in the app) see the SimpliSafe status under ‘Things’
The thing, I added both codes and device and in apps but I’m not getting option for credentials. All I C is simplisafe Alarm state in the end it’s asking me to pick the device which is not listed. So I added the code and both sections but I’m not seeing the display as shown above so that I can put these credentials in.
I just double checked, and I think I misinformed you a few posts back, the credentials are done from the web app, https://graph.api.smartthings.com/device/list, then under the simplisafe device there is a edit link under preferences.
Is this the way to make SimpliSafe show up as an actual device listed?
If not, that’s where I’m stuck at the moment…
I will try to take snap shots of what I see and post it… unless you guys give me direction on my.missed step.
There are two pieces of code here that you can use. The first piece is the device type (required) which is found in this post: SimpliSafe Alarm Integration (cloud to cloud)
Put the code above into IDE as new device type. Once it’s created and added, edit the preference section and enter your SimpliSafe credentials. It should now appear as a device in your ST app.
The second piece is an optional SmartApp that can be used to automate arming / disarming your system on a mode change. SimpliSafe Alarm Integration (cloud to cloud)
This code gets entered into IDE as a new SmartApp and installed from the ST app. If you need help with this part, the developer (@foxxyben) who created it might be able to help.
What about using the code @foxxyben created and set your alarm based on mode change? SimpliSafe Alarm Integration (cloud to cloud)
the code in this thread has worked very well for dis/arming based on smartthings mode. Haven’t had a need to test that other code yet.
What exactly are you wanting to do with three dimmer states? The device type already does a good job of showing what state it is in. If you use the companion smartapp, then your alarm should theoretically be in sync with your smartthings modes. Anything you try to do in the dashboard is going to be a bit hacky since there isn’t an alarm section per se. I suppose locked could be armed and presence could dictate whether its armed home or away. Not sure if any of these would solve your use case.
I followed your steps. I added the first code into the " My Device Handler" , saved and published.
Do I need to run simulator? or Location? other than save and publish?
I also added the foxxyben code in ST smartapp.
When I log into my ST app, all I see is Foxxyben app which is asking me to select a device, but no device is selectable… and I see all this in " + My Apps".
So back to Step 1… Do I need to pick, add, select, etc anything prior to publish? in order to see the Alarm system? Or am I looking in the wrong area for the app itself?? I’m looking for the screen you posted on top that give you the 6 button choices as its not showing up anywhere when i log into my ST app.
I went back to the “Code” itself and I’m not sure exactly where I put my credentials into the code itself for my Simplisafe id and password… I think this is the part that holding me up.
After you put the code in as a Device Handler, you need to go to ‘My Devices’ and create the device. Once it’s created and published, there will be a Preferences section where you can edit and enter your credentials. When you add the device you will have to give it a unique Network ID, I made mine SS-Alarm but as far as i know anything unique would work.
This is what i needed! Thank You!
Thank you everyone… I got it up and running .
Question: The Base icon is RED… is that because it can’t communicate with the item or it’s because I didn’t finish installing all devices and the error codes notifications turn it red?
The base icon will be red if your SS system is reporting any warning messages in the control panel (loss of power, unable to contact dispatcher, etc). I would log into the SS website to check the exact error message.
Congrats for getting it working! My system has been setting itself at night all week, and it is awesome
