Samsung Power Outlet - power consumption when off

Hi there,

Really liking the Smarttings stuff. Quick question for you all as I can’t seem to find an answer in the literature of FAQ’s. Does anyone know what the power consumption is for the Samsung Power Outlet when its turned off but still on at the wall.

Its great to know what the power draw is when its on, but I’d like to know what it is when off. I’m thinking of adding these two silly things like TV so when out of the home it switches power off at the TV automatically. So I want to find out the off power draw and compare that to the TV to see if its worthwhile. There must be some draw in order to power the zigbee.

I measured the Centralite 4257050-RZHAC (same as Smarthings outlet) with my Kill-A-Watt. When the relay is off it measures 0.3W and with the relay on it’s 0.6W.

Thanks, that helps a lot. At least I have something to gauge against. In this instance I checked the specs of the TV in standby and its less that 0.25w so I won’t be following that thought.

But other things around the house which are generally on standby and consume a lot of power may warrant further looking into.
