Hello, the media renderer events app is great. However, can the triggers be set to “AND” instead of “OR”.
I want the Sound message to come on ONLY when A AND B happen instead of current setup of A OR B.
Thanks in advance

I was able to get my Pioneer to be picked up.
Here is the issue. On my Pioneer when I tested it via EchoSistant (http://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=EchoSistant) it changes to the ui for the speaker (different) input, and it didnt go back to the input it was on originally. I thought the sound would just come out of the input it was on. I guess not. If the speaker has to switch, what can I use to switch it back? CoRe maybe?
I had this installed and working, but yesterday it kept saying that the device was not connected. After deleting the device and trying to reinstall it the Media Connect app will not find my Denon Heos 1 Speaker. It finds a networked reciever, but not my speaker. I don’t remember doing anything special when i added the speaker the first time, but I can’t remember to be honest. Do I need to do anything on the speaker while searching for it?
I am simulating DLNA on a PC.
Are you then just using the Generic Media Renderer to connect directly to the DLNA device created in BubbleUPnP?
Yes. That is correct.
Hello, hoping you can help me. Everything is working I have 4 speakers setup, but my live logging is always showing the below errors. Any idea on how to fix it?
hi, have you the last version?
try to add a log trace in 224 line
log.trace “${msg}”
and send me the result in a PM .
Thanks
Hi all,
I have a very strange thing happening with a Kodi device that I have added using this app. Kodi is installed on my PC and I have it connected and working ok.
The issue, which is actually very disturbing, is that I’m seeing files being played in the log that are not being played by the device.
For example, the log history of the Kodi device in the smartthings app is showing that yesterday at 12:58am the device was playing “Kevin Can Wait - S01E08 : Who’s better than us?”. There are other instances like this which go back days showing other TV shows such as Lucifer and ironically Mr. Robot!
I have never watched Kevin Can Wait before and I pay for Amazon Prime so no need to download Lucifer or Mr Robot. These files don’t exist on my network and at 12:58am, the computer that has Kodi installed wasn’t even turned on. I don’t have any kids, I checked all of the devices connected to my router and there’s nothing suspicious and my wife wouldn’t know a torrent if one hit her in the face. Speaking of which, I haven’t downloaded a torrent in about 10 years.
What the heck is going on?
I’ve no idea where this is coming from. Somehow these things are getting written into the smartthings logs without anything playing on the PC.
P.s. Here’s an example of what I’m seeing in the logs.

Hi @blackprint24.
The Mediarenderer device in ST make a subscription with your MR (hardware or software) and the MR send the changes to ST and if the media its different , then is saved in played list.
If the logs indicates the MR have been loaded some song or movie, the MR(hardware or software) has sent that info.
the log you sent show that the movie “The Lobster” has been loaded
the uri show the movie was in a “Y” location , it can be a network reference or a usb drive Y:\Lobster, The (2015)720p\The Lobster.mkv
1.- Verify the ip of the mediarenderer in ST is the same of Kodi
2.- Kodi could download some preview show if you have enabled the plug in
3.- Someone its using your Kodi without you knowledge
4.- The metadata show the image preview its in the address http://192.168.1.168:1164, is it your kodi storage or your nas device ?
Kodi can be installed in Android, PC, FireTv , Is it possible you have installed kodi in some other device and you have not remember?
Check Y location and http://192.168.1.168:1164 to verify its you equipment.
Verify you router and check if recognize all the connected devices
Change your wifi password and disable wps function, its easy to access to some routers by third party users with default passwords and wps activated
Use WPA2 encryption
Do not share you wifi password to your neighborhoods
Check you bandwidth reports, maybe some one is using you kodi like Remote Media server and you don’t know
Good luck
I wasn’t sure if I should post in this thread or the new feature thread… Just got wind of this cool solution for my Samsung Shape WAM750 Currently my Shape speaker just doesn’t work reliably using SmartThings Speaker Notify with Sound because it just keeps cutting out the announcements randomly.
I followed the instructions and installed the smartapp, the device handler and made sure my router was setup with UPnP enabled. The next step in the instructions was to run the MediaRenderer (Connect) app to have it discover my WAM750.
This is where I am having problems, it is not discovering my speaker? I searched this thread for Samsung and it seems this should work with this speaker. Do I have to completely remove the speaker and have it re-added or what is it I am doing wrong?
Hi, The speaker supports DLNA, some multimode speakers have to select DLNA mode to work, verify if you speaker need that settings
I suggest you to use some upnp monitor, just to check your speaker its visible in DLNA mode, try Browse UPnP for ios
If your speaker its visible, then you can add it to ST.
I have the Pure S3 installed and playing through the Pure app. I can see the speaker using Fing on my phone, it identifies it as as media player. The discover process of generic media renderer never finds the speaker. I let it run for a long time.
I installed both portions on the IDE.
I verified my router has upnp turned on. My speaker connects to the network through a second Access Point (Edimax) there is no settings in this Access Point for upnp. It’s a basic device with basic settings. Could the access point be preventing discovery of the speaker?
Am I looking at buying a new better access point to get this working?
Any other apps (android) I could use to help isolate the issue? Just looking for a hint to get me searching in the right direction.
Hi, use the app browse UPnP for ios, you must to verify the upnp its working and your device is available to ST
Pure speakers has been verifyed before by some users, it must to work
Hi again
I manage to find my Google Home, Samsung TV, and my Yamaha Receiver.
They can all play\stop and play text msg.
But I have a 4th player also that ST (mediarender) does not find in the app.
But I can find it on my Bubble player on my phone, I find it in windows explorer, and I also find it in bubble server that is up and running.
It`s an Amadeus WiFi Radio.
Any idea why it does not appear in ST ?
Thank you
Hi, Isuggest you to use Browse UPnP app to verify your Media renderers.
Some times ST Hub get stucked
once you have verified the Mediarenderer its visible
1.- Tun off and turn On your ST hub
If tath does not works
2.- Change the ip address of your mediarenderer, you can do it in your router settings.
After install and uninstall for test ST stopped to catch the response from some speaker, and changing the ip works for me.
Thank you.
Rebooting both the WiFi speaker (in this case a Amadeus Wifi radio) , rebooting ST hub, and double checked in buuble app from phone that it does find and able to use the WiFi radio.
Then ST mediarender did find the WiFi radio
I can now Play\Pause the songs I have started.
I tried to send a Custom Text, like speak “Hello” . It did work fine on the Google Home.
But on the WiFi radio there is no sound, if I try Bell\Alarm\Any sound, there is just “no media” in the display in 3 seconds and no sound to hear, it changes volume so the app works, just no sound.
Maybe it`s not possible to send text to sound on all DLNA devices ?
anyway, thanx again for a great app and support to noobs like me
Edit: after some more testing with all 4 DLNA devices in the ST app, I suddenly cant send any text message to any device. (so maybe it
s not something wrong with the WiFi radio) .
Status is this from SmartThings app: I can change volume on TV, but not play a text msg.
My google home does not respond at all anymore, no volume control, and no sound on the Google Home (yesterday it did all work)
And the WiFi radio can play radiostation genre, but no text speak .
it seems like the DLNA function from ST partly works whenever it feels like having a good day. ? :o
Just to get back with an update.
I went in and deleted both the DTH and App. Then reinstalled them again. After this they found the speaker very quickly.
Not sure what I used or did different, doesn’t matter.
For clarification for me, if I add a second speaker I would then just run discovery again. Correct??
When I added another speaker, I just ran the Search for new DLNA device again.
I just found out that if I change the DLNA setting in Bubble server, I have to search and add the device as a NEW device again. That`s why my google home stopped working I think.
