Post Requests for Zigbee Edge Drivers Here (community-created)

Thanks Jd, your willingness to help and knowledge is very much appreciated. do you know if there is a list of developer channels- a list of links to developers edge drivers?

I’m not sure I understand your question.

The community-created wiki does have quick browse lists for edge drivers which lists the community-created edge drivers that have been made publicly available. The lists are divided by device class, so one list for locks, one list for sensors, etc.

The page also includes links to some manufacturer channels.

https://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.php?title=How_to_Quick_Browse_the_Community-Created_SmartApps_Forum_Section#Quick_Browse_Links_for_Edge_Drivers

But they aren’t listed by individual developer, if that’s what you were looking for. Feel free to add a page like that to the wiki if you think it would be useful. :sunglasses:

Anyone any news on an edge driver for Nest Thermostat at all?

This will almost certainly come in with Matter support, but will also require a Thread Border Router.

I wonder if this will include the Nest Protect smoke detectors?

I have some Xfinity/Sercomm open/close sensors (XHS2-SE) that I would like to continue to use after Groovy is gone. They can currently work with the Smartsense open/close sensor DTH or the Tyco door/window sensor DTH. I don’t know if these are considered standard or stock device handlers and will be transitioned automatically or I will need to find a custom Edge driver. I have not found a custom Edge driver that has a fingerprint for this sensor. I also don’t know if there is a driver that just needs to have this sensor’s fingerprint added. I have attached images from the Smartthings IDE for this device. Any insights would be appreciated.

Actually Bond made a wifi controller that fit in the ceiling fan shroud that looks and works exactly like the Hampton Bay ZigBee. It is actually what replaced the Hampton Bay controller however it is no longer available at home Depot. I bought my last one on eBay for $40 and sold the ZigBee controller on eBay for $60. It was a definite win win. Should you find one, search for Blueyetisoftware Bond controller driver here and you can have full local control.

As you said, the stock Edge Zigbee contact switch drivers won’t detect these by direct manu/model fingerprint or by cluster match. Since they work with the smartsense driver, they’re probably a good candidate to be added to @Mariano_Colmenarejo’s driver.

Hi @marklieber @csstup

Added to this driver version

I couldn’t find these two devices included in any finger print.
Can you please send a link to the driver that you are referring to

Thanks, I did find it in Mariano’s drivers

Looking for a driver for

Thanks

Wow! That was fast! I have to go and try this.

I removed the XHS2-SE in the app. When I added it back in, it was found, by the app, and added to the hub. It showed up in β€œno room assigned” as Thing. When I press the icon, nothing happens.
I attached the current device info from the Smartthings IDE.

Are you installed this driver versiΓ³n in your hub?

This Thread is only for making a request. It’s not for discussion about problems with any particular edge driver. Otherwise it’s going to become impossible for other people to read through, including other developers who might want to answer new requests.

Please take any specific discussion of problems or features of a specific edge driver to the author thread for that edge driver. Or you can start a new thread if needed and tag the person you’re talking to. Thank you. :sunglasses:

@Mariano_Colmenarejo

As a test, I grab one of my 4-buttons…delete the custom DTH, removed device and tried bringing in again.

no luck with edge driver. I went looking for what is currently listed in fingerprints for buttons/remotes.
many 4 buttons but no

Hank Four-Key controller
Model: HKZW-SCN04

the custom DTH I had was modeled after the aeotec nanomote 4 key. press/doublepress/hold
so I am guessing its only a matter of getting the Device ID in the finger print for it to work with std zwave 4 button events. no?

Is there an existing Edge driver for HVAC/thermostat that uses HTTP REST commands?
To port the this DTH for Daikin mini splits that uses the WIFI adapter

Is that something easily feasible/supported natively? Maybe I’ll need to read up on the documentation and Lua.

@TAustin created an edge driver to send HTTP requests to devices on your LAN, so you could certainly use that to interface with the RESTful interface of your thermostat.
