Possible solution to prewired home security?

While digging around the internet I found two interesting Zigbee devices. They are called Panel Interface Modules or PIMs for interfacing preexisting wired security systems to HA.

I have no idea how they work or if they would even be compatible to ST but I figured I’d throw the idea out there.

Hopefully they are of some use to someone here.

I have one of these but I wasn’t sure if it would work with smart things.

Did it come with any instructions, diagrams or any technical information? Do you have digital copies of any of the information that can be shared here?

Can you give it a try? If so, please let us know what you find out.

I found this: Take Over Board Guide

I just got it hooked up and all it did was show up as a unknown device in smartthings.

Is the device type an input, an output or both?

I’m not sure what you mean. It just showed up as a thing with Device Network Id 4031

That would be really great if you could ditch the arduino/raspberrypi solution and use this instead (and way cheaper). What would we need to make it work? API?

Has anyone been able to connect this Pim to the smartthing hub?

has anyone been able to get this to work with ST hub?

here’s an instructions manual

I 've seen this with Rogers tech in toronto installing a new monitoring system and he used this device to take over an old wired system, makes it also possible to use old panel, sensors and siren. Hope this helps
