Great
That’s likely because your router doesn’t handle loop back packets.
Ie the source and destination of the packets are the same network but is going through your gateway to the internet and coming back. It’s a router configuration issue.
The Tomato routers handle this very well.
Thanks for your help! I’m heading out of town on vacation later today so I’ve run out of time to tweak things further, including my router settings, but will follow-up when I get back home. In the meantime, my Foscam cameras are all working again as intended with your latest code!
@RBoy I’m having a similar problem as @KakaduDreamer, I have a FI8910 and the toggles works fine, but I’m not able to see the picture. The app get stuck with the photo icon in blue, and in the log only black and grey messages (though when panning also only grey messages appears). I’m connecting in the internal IP direction, and the foscam app for iOS is working fine!!
I have reboot, refresh, and reinstalled the camera but nothing happen related to getting the image to the iOS.
Thanks

Only grey and black is telling you that something on your network is preventing the smart things hub from communicating with your camera. The hub is sending command to your camera (check your port and IP address - double triple check it) but the camera isn’t responding. Check your network configuration.

Glad it’s working, am working on some new features - just added support for mirroring and flipping the video and pictures as well apart from the controls.
I have an FI8918 and I am having trouble getting it to work. When I try to take a photo, the icon sticks on blue and the log has only black and grey messages. I’m trying to connect to the internal IP address of the camera and have verified the address, port, username, and password are correct. I have tried restarting the camera, rebooted the hub, and refreshed the camera within the app, but nothing seems to be working. All of the messages I get in the log are grey and black, but I have checked the ip address and port over and over. Please let me know if there is a way to tell what I am missing.
When I press refresh, I get the following in the log:

Your camera cannot communicate with your hub, check your network / connectivity and settings. If you don’t see blue it’s always the communication (username password, port, ip address, network configuration, firewall etc)
Thanks for the reply. I checked everything again and finally found what I did wrong. I guess I didn’t realize the username needed to be case sensitive. I had a capital letter in the username but entered it as lower case. I changed it and it works great now! Thanks again.
Quick question here in regards to differences in ST app settings and IDE. So last night, I got my new hub and started settings things up. Foscam HD camera was at the top of the list. So, I installed the most recent device type from the website and created my 4 Foscam cameras. I had to update the preferences in IDE which I did without issue. Went to the ST app and was able to take a picture without issue either. Here is the funny part. In the ST app if I tap preferences the only settings that are the same with IDE are IP, Username and password. The port is blank and Enable HD mode is disabled as is the remaining options except for presets. If I attempt to update the the values in the ST app, save them and go back to preference they do not stick and the port value is set to 80. Any ideas what i might be doing wrong here? Thanks!
EDIT: I think the issue is with ST. If I look at my Roomba, I see that it too does not have an entry in the port section even though I set in the app but in IDE I see the hex value for the IP and port just like I do for the Foscam cams. All the Foscam cameras and Roomba are functioning correctly.

Foscam Motion Alarm Monitor SmartApp - Now added an option for the user to select a Cruise which will be started when motion alarm is detected. This helps when used in conjunction with the record video option during Motion Alarm in the Foscam device setting (e.g. Horizontal cruise will provide a wider view while recording)
I have your device type installed and working great, both from inside and outside my network. I am now trying to install the Foscam SmartApp. I got it copied from the server, and published, but when I go to MyApp on my phone, and click on Foscam Motion Alarm Monitor, it just says “Sorry there was an unexpected error.”
Any idea why this isn’t working? I tried installing it from the computer, but then I get a different error about not being authorized when I try to go change settings for the smartapp.

ST Platform issues, delete the app and try again after a few hours or tomorrow.
I’m still getting the same problem. I’ve found the only way to delete the App is to change to code to the code of a functioning app, and then delete it in the mobile app. Foscam Device type and device still work great for manual control.
