Hi All!
Please join us for the next developer’s call on 06/17/2015 at 5pm PST! The topic is pending, however we’re open to your suggestions! Let me know what you want to talk about, and we’ll get it going!
@april May be we can spend some portion of time on discussing ongoing issues and what can developers do to work around them ? An example is issues with the scheduler which has become a very prominent issue lately.
I say we have a no agenda discussion. Open to anything anyone wants to talk about and we just keep a clock so we don’t stay on any one topic for more than 5 minutes.
Ask questions, make comments, answer questions… This might be a good time to see where the community is and engage us all on what’s going on, rather then focusing on the futures of ST.
i’d love to hear what you all have to say. I’ll provide as much info i know, but in addition, I’m all ears. However, I’ll be doing most of the speaking.
How about an update on why we have to reset the TCP smartapp once a week? as well as having to reset pollster often. What is being done to fix these current problems?
We got a little peek into the new UX on the last call, could you maybe find the answer to a few questions?
Are we going to have better organization for SmartApps?
When are the repair/replace buttons going to work again?
Any progress on the Marketplace?
Also, maybe address how priorities and relationships with third parties are handled.
TCP bulbs are listed in quite a bit of ST marketing and are pretty much useless at this point
Some devices have been in the labs section for a year
Though we have been getting updates that ST has made it’s way through the submissions, it still seems like it takes a very long time for third party updates to go live on the system.
Is there someone working with companies like TCP and Hue to ensure a smooth user experience or are you reliant on community developers. An example is the netatamo device - stopped working last week. TCP bulbs have never really worked properly. Foscam integration is a hack at this point. For new users coming in some of the marketing materials might give the impression that these are things that are working and easy to set up.
