As far as limiting Geolocation to a small area, as you’ve noticed, the standard method doesn’t work very well for people in apartments. Or for some other use cases, such as my own. I am a wheelchair user, and I don’t want my door to unlock until I am at the end of the wheelchair ramp. Not when I’m still on the bus halfway down the block and waiting for the bus driver to unload me. 
There are some different workarounds available that depend on the type of phone you have (iOS or android), and the specific Wi-Fi router that you have. The goal being not to use GPS, but to use something where you can narrow the range much more. I’ll post a link to a thread about that later today.
And welcome again! Glad you found the forum: it’s a very creative and helpful community.
in future, it will help everybody if you limit your new threads to one topic. Also, the more specific, your thread title the more answers you will probably get. Just something to keep in mind.
