Has anyone ever heard of Network enabled circuit breakers? I’d like to know when a circuit gets tripped and possibly have smartthings intercept that message somehow and alert me.
there are energy meters that can do this, although they’re not usually installed inside the breaker box.
One of the community members has a hack that works as long as the hub and wifi router maintain power.
They use one of the first generation ST sensors that can operate via either USB plug or battery. They plug it in on the circuit they want to monitor. Then when that device switches from USB to battery they capture that change and report it.
Cheap, simple, and won’t likely burn down your house.
I don’t recall exactly who it was, though, hopefully someone else remembers.
