Need an ST-compatible Replacement for Insteon 6 Button Dimmer Keypad

It’s time to move forward and i would like to completely ditching Insteon devices. I already replace most of insteon devices but i having problem with one wall switch that i have. it’s Dimmer Keypad
6-Button ( Wall Keypads — Insteon ). ON/OFF buttons work just like regural wire wall switch other buttons ( A,B,C,D) i can setup a custon scene with other devices like other switch, fan module or garage opener.

I looking something similar that will work with Smartthings ( prefered either Z-wave or Zigbee, no wi-fi )

Are you in North America? The zwave frequency varies by region, so the device selection also varies.

  1. If you are using a US hub, then the closest thing that works well is probably the Zooz Zen32 scene controller, which has 5 buttons:

It has been quite popular in the community.

  1. the Aeotec Wallmote quad is available in both North America and the EU/UK. It’s battery operated and not as intuitive: it has 4 buttons, each with tap or double tap, so can handle 8 scenes with SmartThings. The product description will say it can do 16 scenes, but so far SmartThings doesn’t recognize the swipe up and swipe down gestures.
  1. Leviton makes a couple of multi button scene controllers which are expensive, look like they should work with SmartThings, but multiple community members have reported issues. So I’m putting them here in case you find them on your own so you’ll know to do more research.

The older zwave models require custom code, and so far no one has done a version for the new SmartThings platform.

The newer less expensive WiFi model works with IFTTT, so you can get partial integration that way, but there may be lag. I know you said no WiFi, so hopefully someone will know if there’s an integration for the zwave version which is working with the new ST platform.

Hopefully if someone has either of these working well they’ll add more details.

  1. sunricher makes some multi button devices but community experience has been mixed.

Summary:

If you’re in the US, the Zooz Zen32 5 button scene controller works well although set up, as with most multi button devices on the ST platform, can be a little complicated. The good news is that it is priced well and the company has committed to providing any code necessary for the new ST architecture.

The Aeotec Wallmote is a 4 button battery powered zwave device available in more regions. Since Aeotec is the hardware partner for ST zigbee in both the US and the UK it seems likely that they will provide at least minimal integration with the new ST platform, but no specific promises for this model yet.

Leviton offers a WiFi 4 button hardwired controller which is not part of the official integration but can be made to work via IFTTT, but so far no one has updated the integration for the zwave model for the new ST architecture. :disappointed_relieved:

There are some other options from other brands, but so far all require custom code which has not yet been developed for the new ST platform.

Yes North America.

Zooz Switch ZEN32 i think will be a perfect replacement. Thank you so much.

Most of devices i already replaced either Aeotec of Sonoff, I saw Aeotec WallMote Quad but i’m afraid of glass touch panel break if idrop it. Aeotec send me an email about upcoming device like WallMote 7 for now they provide only guide but 2 button is not enought WallMote 7 user guide : Aeotec Help Desk
