Build an paid app on App Store

Hi there I like to ask if it would be possible to make use of smarthing api to build an paid app to sell on App Store. I understand there is an official smart things app but I have some thoughts on the UI, maybe someone on app store would be willing to paid for it at 1.99$ I was looking through app store, I did not see any other apps that works with smart things. Is it that the api only allow hobbyist to build for their own use only Thank you so much.

Developer run smartapp/device store

I’m posting this to see how much support a developer run smartapp/device store would have. My rough concept is as follows. A website for payed smartapps and devices with PayPal to handle payment processing. Features would include,( if possible) try before you buy, reviews, auto update, support request, screen shots, and Faq. To keep things simple developers would be charged a fixed price per transaction like $0.10 and (hopefully) be able to charger users more than $1.00 to buy and use various smartapps and devices. What do you guys/gals think?

SmartThings should build an app store for its own sake…Otherwise, developers will soon lose interests.
