Mobile presence sensor only, no device control?

Is there a way to use an Android phone as a presence sensor only without all the device controlling options?

I’ve found the presence sensor fobs a costly option as the batteries only last a couple of weeks and was wondering if there was a way to use a Android mobile to trigger its presence without installing the full blown ST App.you can’t change the

IFTTT almost does it but you can’t change the systems mode, only whether devices are on of off when connecting/disconnecting to wifi.

The answer is sure, it just depends on exactly what you want to do. :sunglasses: Many people use life 360 which is a free service and has an official integration.

Also, you can use IFTTT to turn on a virtual presence sensor in SmartThings, if that’s what you’re asking. It will look like a switch to IFTTT, but it will act like a presence sensor in SmartThings.
