So recently i tried using routines for my Airconditioner from Smart Things app and was disappointed to see such a basic feature missing. So apparently I cannot set the 5 step cooling parameter when selecting routines. The setting is missing from the “options” and the page itself. Isn’t this the whole point of 5 step cooling to have energy efficiency. Each time the routine triggers, it goes back to 100% of the capacity instead of the set let say 60%.

Even Bixby on samsung phones can’t do that, if you poll the current status of your AC using their API, changing 5 step cooling doesn’t appears on the status JSON file. I guess because they didn’t expose the API for it. And yes, they reset it to 100% which really sad.
