Local Storage with Arlo Cameras?

If I’m reading it correctly, they will be removing the email notification feature and only provide the app notification. That’s not the same since the email provides a screenshot and the app notification does not.

So, if a manufacturer only supports 4 years, then that means they expect customers to purchase new equipment every four years then to keep services working even though the technology isn’t enhance that much.

I looked at using a NAS since the storage can be snapshot offsite, but they all have camera licensing fees.

Seems the camera security market is a m̶i̶n̶e̶ (strike that) a their field.

Cool to see that they backtrack with their removal of the 7 days cloud storage

Will wait a bit before changing the camera

It’s worth mentioning that Direct Storage Access is very buggy, even with the latest firmware on a 5000 and on the local network. Do some web searches and you’ll find hundreds of complaints about this feature breaking (with the error message redirecting you to a sales pitch for the cloud service). It’s been broken for over a year with no fix. At this point, you probably want to look at a different brand if you’re hoping for local storage.
