Litter Robot Connect

It does run “ok” in the new app. In other words, you can start a clean cycle by turning it “on” and it reports contact “open”, switch “on” and robot cleaner movement as “cleaning” when performing a clean cycle. It will also report a tamper alert for error states. But some of the additional controls are lost: night light on/off, reset drawer gauge, etc.

Any word on updating the app to fully work with the new smart things app?

I know I had to download the update for my universal fan handler to work with the new smart things app. If I knew how to make apps I would mess with it, but I haven’t got my LR3 connect upgrade yet for testing.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any current plans of updating this for compatibility with the new app myself. After a couple of internet outages at home and realizing that SmartThings still fully relies on cloud support to even open the app so I can control my local z-wave devices, I decided to invest in a home automation solution that could still function as long as my home network remained online and also allowed me more flexibility in control of devices and automations both locally and remote.

somebody should take over this project and make it completely work for the new app, and the new replacement for groovy that will be coming sometime whenever.

what smart hub did you switch too? hubitat? home assistant?

I switched to home assistant

My LR3 has been out of commission for several months, but I got it up and running again and it looks like this smartapp doesn’t work any more. Anyone else successfully using it? I can’t authenticate. It tells me Access forbidden: invalid API key, and to check my credentials. I’m guessing AutoPets may have changed the authentication method recently? I can use the AutoPets phone app with no issue.

I am also unable to connect using the smart app, I ended up using Homeassist for just my litter robot to get it working as I need it to.

I released a new version of the SmartApp that should hit the new endpoints to allow this project to “work” for a little bit longer. You’ll want to remove (or update) the apiKey that you have set in the SmartApp settings at https://graph.api.smartthings.com/.

Thanks @natekspencer, I appreciate it!

Awesome thank you so much for patching this

Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t stay connected for very long. The smart app indicates it is “connected”, but eventually there is a network error when I try to use the device, and there are no events in the history besides my initial test of the device after freshly connecting the account.
