I have one osram bulb and one GE bulb that just seem to go dead. If I look in ide they show inactive for ***hours. I have noticed with these two bulbs they will just randomly come on. they will be on but show off in the app. I can not turn off or on. ect ect.
i assume i could reset and reconnect to the hub but that is a bummer when you have 5 or 6 different smart apps that they are attached to. I was wondering if there was an easier way to get them to listen (become active again) without having to remove from all the smart apps then reset them.
some times killing the power to the device for a min seemed to bring them back but only for a day or 2 they constantly have issues
There is a known issue with GE link bulbs which can cause this. It’s the reason they are not on the official “works with SmartThings” list.
I haven’t heard of a similar problem with the Cree unless they got out of range. If the problem is that the GE goes off-line and then you are losing the cree, that would make sense if the GE had been acting as a repeater for the Cree. If the Cree is off-line by itself, then I would just wonder about range.
But in either case, try the steps in the FAQ. It’s quite likely you won’t have to change any of your smartapps, so it’s a lot less work.
its definitely not a distance issue. the osram is in a chandelier so 5 other bulbs work fine except the crazy one. and the gelink is an outdoor flood that has a bulb right beside it that always works.
i guess ill go through the process of resetting ugh
