I'm in need of a driver for a HC-SR04 sensor on my zigbee system

I need to detect if my car is parked in my garage. I wired this sensor to a esp32-c6 development board and it correctly measures distance. I will mount it to the bottom of my garage door opener pointing down. I just need to end up with a Yes or No. It’s connected to the SmartThings aeotec zigbee hub, and its status just shows up as Connected. I think I need a driver.

Maybe. Maybe not.

It all depends on how the Zigbee part of your device is implemented…

The easiest thing to do is have your ESP32 simulate a door/window sensor with open/close type events. Reporting that status using the standard Zigbee 3.0 ZCL clusters won’t require a driver at all. ST will use its default zigbee sensor driver and report your on/off status that you can map to mean car present or not.

Even better in his case:

I disagree for detecting a vehicle, but each use case is different. To me a presence detector should be based on humans or something they carry (airtag, phone, etc). Our vehicles are often parked yet we are not present.
