Hey Everyone,
So for those of you who have American Family Insurance I just got a 5% discount on my home owners insurance because it notifies me. I don’t pay for Scout. AmFam does a smarthome discount and it incorporates security cameras as well as home automation into the discount. You get the discount because when something happens you get notified. All I had to do was take a few screenshots of SmartThings showing where it detects intrusioin (false alarms) my smoke detectors and my water sensors as well. I also gave them a little brief explanation of some of my automation’s. i.e. motion detected tell ZoneMinder to start recording these cameras (thank you @ady624 for CORE).
So it might worth a phone call to your insurance agent to see if your company offers a discount for SmartThings as well.
