I have recently purchased a couple hitachi wireless speakers, and will probably buy more. Is anyone else familiar with these speakers? Has anyone attempted to integrate these into smartthings?
They are connected to my home network over wifi and I stream music wirelessly to them from a western digital nas. They may be Bluetooth enabled, but I do not utilize that function with them.
Hopefully these links help.
I got it to work. Thankyou.
@cfilip1980 Can you share how you got the Hitachi Wi-Fi Speaker working? Nevermind got it working.
I’m new to smartthings and the wife purchased a few of these speakers. Can you clarify what method you used to get them to work? Thanks
@Clarence_Kornegay I use the Media Renderer link is below. if you need anything else let me know. I really like these speakers and Walmart has them on sale as they are trying to get rid of the inventory that they have. If I can be of any more help let me know. Thanks
RELEASE Generic Media Renderer (DLNA Speakers). Cheap Sonos Alternative (Update V2)
I’m trying to get a Hitachi speaker to connect, but I must be missing something. Speaker is connected to house wi-fi. I can control my speaker through the Hitachi app, so I know it’s connected to the network properly. I installed the generic media renderer. Inside the SmartThings app, I go to Automation/add a smart app /my apps / media renderer connect. I tap the “discovery process” button, and it starts searching, but nothing is found. Anybody know what I’m doing wrong? I have only been using SmartThings for about 2 months, so I’m pretty new to all of this. Just getting the generic renderer installed through the IDE was a pretty good accomplishment. Anyhow, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Still trying to figure this out… I just can’t seem to get it. Anybody with any ideas??
