Does anybody know the reason why I can’t send an audible alert to my Google Home?
Because Google doesn’t offer that option through their integrations yet. So there’s nothing for smartthings to trigger.
It can be done with echo through echo routines. But they only recently added that feature.
It’s quite likely that Google will make it available eventually since the two companies tend to match each other‘s featuresets, it but it’s just not there yet.

And vice versa. 
originally you could only use echoes to call other people who had echoes, but then after google released expanded calling, Amazon expanded their features as well and now you can call any number.
Both systems are good and keep getting better.
