“The” single gate. Yes, if I wanted to have a notification of a simple something being left open this would be simple in a routine. I originally did something similar in a SHM routine to let me know one of my garage doors was left open. Then I’d look and close the one left open.
That doesn’t work when you have 12+ windows (and possibly a few doors on the first floor; this was the piston for the 2nd floor) and you want a nicely worded notification listing exactly what was left open.
Read that last sentence again. I said it in my original post, and you ignored it then, too.
The purpose of posting the piston was to show why webCoRE (not “webcore”) is more powerful. This is an example of exactly that.
It was even possible before webCoRE; I did the simple rule same as your gate for the garage doors in SHM. But ST took away that functionality when they moved from SHM to STHM in 2020. Only later did they add routines that added that mechanism back.
But that works for a fixed message, like your routine, and doesn’t indicate which things are left open.
