GE Ceiling Fan Switch Custom Device Type - Low, Med, High buttons w/no slider!

I’m using yours but I tried changing everything to 100 in the code and it won’t switch to the highest level.

I am not sure why you are changing the code as this DTH allows to change in the settings. Trying using value 99 instead of 100.

Honestly in part because Siri via Homebridge sends 100% to it and it just seems a bit arbitrary. Sorry for spamming the thread by the way :slightly_frowning_face:

The other Alexa related annoyance is that Alexa sees ay device with the “switch level” capability as a light, even if you have it set as a switch in Alexa. The annoyance comes in, in that if add the fan to a room group, and say “Alexa, turn off the lights,” the fan shuts off too. The work around is to keep fans out of Alexa groups, but it would be nice if we could edit the device so Alexa doesn’t see it as a light. Probably an Amazon problem I know.

EDIT: Disregard. Just change the device to light, then back to switch in Alexa and it works as expected.

I would like to use the code you have but the link is bad now, could you point me in the rite direction. Will this work with the eco bee temp sensors?

Thanks
Jack

Hi Jack, I haven’t maintained that code in a very long time, especially since there’s native support in the new app and Classic app for this device.

If you want a copy of the code to support and make any changes you want it’s here:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jsconstantelos/jcdevhandlers/master/devicetypes/jscgs350/my-ge-fan-control-switch.src/my-ge-fan-control-switch.groovy

With regards to your Ecobee question, I’m not sure what you mean by that.
