First Alert New 025 SMCO410 Z-Wave Battery-Powered Smok Detector & Carbon Monoxide Alarm

@David_359 do you have a v2 or v3 hub?

Did you get the smoke detector connected to your V2 hub?

No matter how I try to add the Smoke Detector, it continues to come up as only a Z-Wave Switch. When I try to change the driver for it, there are no other options. Manufacturer Code continues to come up as all zeroes. Any advice?

Try sitting the detector right next to your hub while pairing it.

Thanks. I tried this. Still the same result using various methods to add the Smoke Detector. Best I got was trying to add via QR code, then setting the Smoke Detector to inclusion mode. It actually got to a screen saying it was downloading the driver but then it errored out that it couldn’t download it.

Install the Z-Wave Smoke Alarm driver from the official SmartThings Edge Drivers channel first and try again. Shouldn’t be necessary, but worth a shot.

Hi everyone, I have the SMCO410 and a V2 hub and have tried the suggestions in this thread but could not get past the “verify your device” “processing” step. I tried the SmarthingsCLI command “smartthings.exe edge:drivers:logcat -a”, but I didn’t see anything in the output stream related to the SMCO410 inclusion. Is there a way to see the V2’s system log, specifically the activity when it’s attempting to pair the device? I tried “Dump Hub Logs” from SmartThings. Add a little smartness to your things. , and I get the message “Requested to dump hub logs for hub “hubname”.“, but I don’t see where the logs are sent.

  1. Make sure you excluded the device before you start. See the manufacturers exclusion instructions.

  2. down load the driver listed in the post above yours

  3. set the detector right next to your hub during pairing
