Yes, as others have said those instructions did not help
Hi @citylight31
I recommend posting your issue in this thread: Troubleshooting SmartThings Hub 2018 and Aeotec Hub, where an engineer from the team might be able to help you out with this.
Same error code 33-504. I’ve done a factory reset, tried the Ethernet and nothing works.
Click on the Troubleshooting link directly above your post. Read the directions in the first post for resolving the issue . If you still encounter problems, post in that thread. They have staff monitoring it.
Hi everybody, Simple solution to block NTP(for routers that not permit block ports):
Find parental control on your router settings and block all NTP active servers on your country. Check https://www.ntppool.org, choose your country to see what are NTP servers for you. Block them all on parent control or create a firewall rule. If you do that you finally can add and update your hub…
Hi.
I just bought a new hub and cant get it online. Can see that you DM’ed a bunch of people with a tip for fixing it. Can you help me too.

Hub2018 S/N 4011030517
Read the thread - tried several times to resolve, but I have no access to adjust routersettings to block the 123 port..
Trying to figure out if i can update via USB, but it seams like this is not an option. Guess only think only thing is to switch to an upgraded version, unless somehting new pops up?
The object of the exercise is to temporarily prevent the hub being able to request and receive a time update from an NTP server. The suggested method is to use your router to filter out communication using port 123, which covers all NTP servers, but another option is to prevent any communication to the NTP server used by the hub which I believe is pool.ntp.org. So if your router lets you blacklist that domain that may help.
Another option is to prevent the name server handling pool.ntp.org. That is a mechanism that is often used for blocking access for certain sites for parental control purposes. So that is something your ISP might offer you. Alternatively if you can change the DNS servers used by your router, you can use one of a number of public DNS services that offer filtering.
Hi @ksankar13
Please send the logs to build@smartthings.com
Some users have had better success performing these steps at a friend’s or family member’s home, so that might be worth a try if possible:
SmartThings Hub Certificate Issue - Steps to Try
If these steps cannot be completed or are unsuccessful, it may be necessary to replace the hub following the process and details shared at the end of that post.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need support with the process.
Hi. I’m trying to connect my Samsung smarthings hub V3 with starlink and receiving same error as above said. Please send me a troubleshooting instruction.
And my S/N is 4011000739. Many thanks.
Hi @goldenval
Could you follow the instructions in the post below, please?
I understand fully the problem, as well as the solution.
My problem is that our router is completely “offlimits”, so I am trying to find another solution.
But - I have found an old router that might be able to do the trick when pushed between the current router.
Thanks.
Thank you - I am getting an old router into the house later today - I expect that i will be able to configure this. Alternatively I will ask for a replacement as shown below.
@Itati i shared several reminders and sent the logs and unfortunately no response. I have a piece of useless hub for which i spent 110 euros ![]()
