Hope they release a power monitoring version soon!
You can configure the LED. From the manual:
Cool, thanks for sharing that. I installed it without really looking at the manual (typical I know).
In terms of functionality, An outlet and a light switch Are the same. A binary relay. However, just be aware that not being able to distinguish between them may confuse Google home and Amazon Alexa, particularly if you were trying to turn off a group of switches without turning off the outlets.
Yup, which is why I tagged Tom in my post above. Youâd think mainstream device manufactures like Jasco/GE have a relationship with ST to ensure compatibility when they finally release their stuff for sale⌠Oh wait, I was dreamingâŚ
Jascoâs website and tech support claims they test on ST. My first attempt at switches are the new ZB3.0 (ZB4002) switches, and when I talked to support, the tech didnât even know these were released. Very frustrating.
Guess I have to learn the Classic appâŚ
Why? Youâll have the same results there too. The issue isnât with the mobile app, but the DTH used to identify the device.
Iâm sure they did, and I would expect that. The issue is still with ST to update their device handlers for the new fingerprint these devices have.
I replaced 2 Zwave outlets that died with 2 of the new Zigbee 3.0 outlets and used the new app. The inclusion experience was way superior to zwave in both speed and reliability. Now I am waiting on the energy metering outlets to replace a couple super annoying/unreliable Enerwave outlets, and slowly all the rest (about 15 more). Following @johnâs lead !

Probably a gap in my knowledge. I thought when you were using Classic you could monkey with DTHs. Newb mistake. Thanks.

Whatâs the usual lag on that? Is Samsung support a better place to go for that info?
No worries at all! The IDE (developer space) is where can do that, plus a whole lot more, including your hub and device event logs, as well as live logging. I definitely recommend getting yourself set up there and checking out whatâs available.
To be honest, Iâm not really sure. So many new devices come to market that it can be hard to keep up. I did tag a few of the ST folks about their DTHâs needing to be updated, and they did confirm theyâll begin the process, but I have no idea when theyâll make updates to their DTHâs.
Sometimes ST support can channel requests like this, as well as using this community. Iâve used the community as well as Github in the past.
I have ordered two of these to replace 2 Tuya receptacles. My goal is to move away from the Smart Life app and have outlets that are visible to ST.
After I installed mine, it kept saying âPlease Waitâ on the switch button in the Classic app. I changed the DTH as you suggestedâŚvoilĂ
Iâm curious how these are holding up, the short time theyâve been out, and if switching the type in the IDE is still required? Iâm thinking of getting an outlet and toggle switch. Amazon reviews rarely provide much help with smart devices.
Mine are holding our great so far. I really donât care about power/energy metering, so Iâd buy more if I needed them.
Based on a sample of 1, the answer is: yes, changing the type is required.
I just bought 2 of the switches, 1 dimmer, and 1 outdoor switch.
Paired the outdoor switch with no problem using the âscan nearbyâ button in the new app on Android 10 phone. It paired ok but showed up as a Samsung TV device. Changed to Zigbee Switch and itâs working fine.
Iâll get the three indoor devices installed sometime later this week. Will report here with results.
My dimmers paired automatically as Zigbee Dimmer device type
Mixed results. Four new GE/Jasco Zigbee 3.0 devices. Paired using new SmartThings app on Android 10 tablet, connecting to a V2 hub
- As mentioned above the outdoor switch (#43100) paired but was called a Thing and DTH was Samsung TV
- Dimmer (#43080) paired without issue and was automatically recognized as a Zigbee Dimmer
- Two switches (#43076) had issues. Both paired as Things with DTH for Samsung TV. One failed to pair on the first try, paired after factory reset (10 taps on upper paddle).
For what itâs worth, the dimmer and two switches all went into a 3-gang box. Replaced a Zooz switch, a dumb switch, and a dumb dimmer. Devices in the box are on two different circuits.
Having the smaller device bodies made fitting things into the multi-gang, multi-circuit box much easier!
Update: the #43076 switch that had to be reset in order to pair is not showing Route or Metrics data in the IDE. No idea if thatâs a problem.
Just installed one yesterday and it still joins as a Thing. Changed the device type and thatâs all it took. Makes me wonder what we are going to do when ide is gone in these situations. 5 months later, and the fingerprints still havenât been updated in the the stock DTH. But in any event, this thing is crazy fast.
Hey @tpmanley, do you guys have these new devices on your roadmap to get properly supported?
I just had my first experience installing these new ZB 3.0 GE/Jasco devices. I chose Zigbee over Z-Wave to extend my Zigbee network. I only had half the house covered before. I also had a mixed experience with the installation. I installed 3 of the switches. The first one I installed came in as a âThingâ but it loaded the switch DTH and I saw no hassles with getting it to work. The 2nd and 3rd both had to be factory reset multiple times to get each one to scan in as just a single device. Once they scanned in as a single device, they grabbed the Samsung TV DTH and the app showed the device with no switch. Sadly I had to go to GROOVY to edit the device type. OH, and to change the LED operation, you tap the top of the switch 3 times fast then bottom once fast. Someone posted 10 times on the top, but for the ZB switch, that does a factory reset.
