Embrighten zwave plus GE dimmer/ air gap

Hello.

Does anyone know the behavior of the airgap in this new switch?

It seems that pulling the airgap does not kill the internal LED.

I have this switch not controlling a load, I am using it to wirelessly control other things so do not know whether the air gap actually kills the load or not.

These new GE switches and dimmers have load/line sensing supposedly to make install easier. Not sure if they will operate without a load

Yes, something like this is probably what is happening.

But from a safety angle one would think that pulling the air gap would physically cut power and not depend on sensing which is line and load.

The zwave portion of the switch WORKS without a load attached.

I am using it for direct dimming control of other lights through zwave association.
