[EDGE] Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock Driver for Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, IDLock, Popp, Danalock, August Pro, Keywe, Philia, Samsung

Got it, thank you! I bought this model outlet based on your other thread specifically around repeating for my Yale, so I’ll see if the repair did the trick. Worst case, I can grab another repeater and give that a try,

How exactly do I get access to these drivers?

Just an observation…
I found that some repeaters / range extenders are better than others.
I had been using Aeotec range extenders, because I had good luck with some of their other zwave devices.
I could never get the Aeotec to work very well with my Schlage door lock.
I looked around at user reviews and found a recommended Remotec, which has worked better.
This one, specifically:

So, if we have a legacy DTH login and license, we have to purchase a new Edge driver license? If we installed the beta of this driver, will we get the released version as well?

It has forked into two separate channels, one for legacy licenses (which was the beta) and one for new licenses. The legacy licenses will provide feature parity for the legacy DTH’s. New/enhanced functionality will be provided via the new license channel.

It seems like the legacy license is garbage now, and once ST completes the migration completely, a new license would need to be purchased from rboy to have access to the non beta versions of the drivers. I’d imagine they’d offer a discount to existing groovy license holders. But I guess time will determine that.

So, no way to try out the released driver prior to purchasing it? And no discount or other consideration for those of us who paid for a lifetime license for the old driver and/or SmartApps in the past?

While I feel the wording of “lifetime license” we paid for the legacy driver should have some benefit, I do acknowledge that RBoy and team had to do a lot of work to get their driver to work in the new Smartthings. The yearly fee of $5.99 is not excessive compared to what the driver provides. I would like to know if a replacement for Lock manager will be coming and part of the same yearly fee or an add-on.

SmartThings model doesn’t allow for trials at this time for drivers despite their repeated promises to us, trials will be available for smart apps once those are released. You can use the beta/legacy channel drivers which provide feature parity with the DTH’s using your legacy license. Discounts will offered for legacy licenses holders when release the new smart apps licenses.
Feel free to add feature requests for the new drivers (we already have a running list including options for scheduled codes)

Guess I’ll stick with a different driver then

Same here. For two reasons: one, users were abandoned for months with no word at all from rboy; two, not honoring the life long license, not about money but about good business practices, even a small discount would have been a good gesture.

@RBoy should I leave the beta channel after the sub?

Did I misunderstand, what @RBoy said in his last message, that “Discounts will offered for legacy licenses holders”…
?

I tried the release driver. Licensing issues aside, stick with @philh30’s driver.

Any specific reasons why?

If I were to hazard a guess, it’s probably because all the features you get from the paid driver you can get in the free driver.

Not to mention, Phil resolved the various codeName issues in his driver long ago.

Just catching up here.Where is this other driver option?
