(EDGE Driver-Mc): Zigbee Drivers for Motion, Open/Close, Moisture, Smoke-Co Sensors and others Devices

Hello, this driver doesn’t work well, during the night has dried the battery and the app doesn’t receive any update ragarding the motion.

I used this driver that works well: Orvibo Motion Sensor

Could you check it?

Hello,

I tested the Zigbee " Zigbee Siren MC" Driver together with the Smartthings Sercomm Smartthings Siren and the function to activate the strobe without siren is exactly what I search for. But unfortunately this is only working on the app page and not in automations.
The reason seems to be that I have to choose switch on (sorry screenshots are german) in automations before I get the options window for the different modes (off, strobe, siren+strobe, siren). Without switching it on the other fields are hidden in automation dialogue. β€œSwitching on” leads to the siren emitting a constant tone (not like normal siren activation) and not reacting as chosen in the additional options.

In the Smartthings siren edge driver there is no additional switch for on and off as it is also included in the add options window anyway (off, siren+strobe) and it works fine. See the screenshots for comparison.

I am not sure if this is an easy thing for you to change but I at least wanted to report this issue.

Wolfram

Siren I am using is

  • manufacturer: Sercomm Corp.
  • model: SZ-SRN12N

In this driver the only thing I did was add new fingerprints.
The code and the presentations are the stock ones.

The problem in automations of having to choose ON to add other options is the same as with light bulbs or switches, to choose other options you have to turn it on first.

It is something related to the logic of the app and the routines

I don’t know if @nayelyz could help on this, since someone also suggested fixing it for the light bulbs and switches

Hi @v.porsio,
I don’t know how is the DTH orvibo motion sensor

The problem that it detects, what is it?
Could you be a little more explicit?
always shows motion activated?. I have seen that the orvibo motion sensor in the stock Edge driver has to reset the motion after 20 sec.

Regarding the battery, did report the battery level at any time?
I have not information if this device use battery voltage or battery percentage remaining.
Driver use battery percentage remaining by default

Added to this driver version

In the Android app, most devices will default to β€˜on’ when creating a new Routine, but you should be able to tap on β€˜on’ to deselect it. Try tapping on the blue circle to see if it goes away.

In the app the sensor is stuck in Verify (Verifica in corso…), now I’ve reinstalled the driver and seems to working correctly.

the groovy driver has 60sec of reset time like your driver

It use remaining percentage. yesterday was 68% and now is 29%. I will test during this night.

I will update you tomorrow.

thanks for your work

Sorry a stupid question…

I need to remove all devices to update their driver?

What driver do you want to update?

none in particular … is a general question

Could you add:

Have you tried the new Beta stock zigbee Contact driver from February 08?

They have changed a lot of things, it’s almost new
The configurations of several models have changed, including the sonoff.
{ mfr = β€œeWeLink”, model = β€œDS01” },
{ mfr = β€œeWeLink”, model = β€œSNZB-04P” },
They have put the battery reports in 600 sec

I don’t know if it would have solved the disconnection problems

They have added many more devices

To update a driver to another version you do not have to uninstall the devices.

Normally they update automatically to the new version in a maximum of 12 hours, from when it is updated in the channel where you downloaded it.

If you want to change to a version that is a different driver, you have to update it in the device details page, settings menu, Driver option.

  • There click on select another controller.
  • They will appreciate the drivers installed on your Hub, which are compatible with that device.
  • You choose it and give to use this driver.
  • It will be installed in about 30-60 sec, it depends on the driver

Sorry
I only have the 1-button smartthings button driver
I get very bad with the buttons, but ask in the forum who can add it to some other button driver

No, I was not using the stock ZigBee contact driver because I was not aware that they added the needed finger prints.

I have not had any disconnect problems in quite a while.

So after reading your post I made the change to the stock ZigBee contact driver and I will see how it works. If it doesn’t work I will switch back to yours.

Thanks for the heads-up

Thank you for tagging me. I found the report I made about this for the corresponding team, so I asked for an update. Once I get more information, I’ll let you know.

Same as @Paul_Oliver

It is possible for me to switch the siren of and on with the button in the app page and also in the automations. BUT switching it on with this switch generates a wrong operation state. The function of the siren is correct if I just do NOT touch the on and off button but directly choose the alarm type mode (types are β€œOff, strobe, siren, strobe+siren”). This is only possible by doing it manually on the device page in the app. The problems in automations is that I do not have the chance to switch alarm type without setting the switch on button set as it is greyed out (β€œAlarmtyp” in the Screenshot).

With the Smartthings stock driver (2nd screenshot), there was no on and off button for this siren in the app page. You could directly activate the switch β€œAlarmtyp” and choose option. This works fine. But unfortunately there was no pure strobe function which I need.

Hello today it’s all ok.

Reset time is 60 seconds, and the battery is still 29%…

Thanks!

Thank you for the explanation. I hadn’t noticed that setting a switch to off greyed out all other options.

I’ve been able to set up routines with no action on the on/off switch as shown below. In this state, the routine would trigger just the β€˜Strobe’ command in the driver. Obviously, this wouldn’t work for you if you also need to set the switch to off in the same routine, but I think this would fit what you need if I’m understanding your situation correctly (assuming the app lets you set it up this way).

Does anyone have instructions for this device? It has always worked well, now I have to disassociate it from the old hub and associate it with the new, but I don’t remember how to do it. With the opportunity at this point I would like to use edge drives since they work well.
