I’m not really sure because I don’t think I’ve yet to see it fully functional. If the past 3 weeks are an indicator, then you’ll soon have to look for my reply in the Hubitat forum.
Is “despise” too strong a word? The fact that I’m on another forum trying to troubleshoot a tech device/app is a big red flag for me. Using the old app and four devices for years with nary a trip to a forum. OK, this one is probably on me and my age, but it took some time to figure out where my devices were located in the app since they weren’t listed on the home screen and there wasn’t a nice, big button to take me directly to them. Even wasted some time trying to re-add them. Favorites shows a list of non-smartthing devices/apps that I directly connect to via bluetooth!?! Why Samsung, why?
I guess I’m in the minority. I made the switch earlier this year, but still have the Classic App installed for the rare occasions where I was trying to load something that could only be initially done in the classic interface, like Ecobee Suite Manager or the ST-Community Installer.
I have 120 devices of a wide variety. It took a while to get used to the functionality and interface, but things are running really smoothly for me now. I’m able to accomplish pretty much everything I’ve needed to. Mostly within ST, a little bit in conjunction with Alexa, and to a very minor degree with IFTTT (which I don’t find myself using much anymore).
Only hole right now, for me, is some of the functionality lost with the sunsetting of EchoSpeaks, but that’s not really a new vs classic issue.
Def in the minority. Our alarm is set to arm at 11pm every night, I had to get into our guest house a little after 11 and was at the door opened the app, showed it was still disarmed, even though it should be armed…I hit disarm several times “just in case” as we have loud sirens and then entered and BAM, the alarm went off and all the sirens blared … This thing is 100% NOT reliable … At all.
I also have alarm automated to arm every day at a specific time OR when I initiate “good night” either via alexa or ST. It disarms every morning, only between certain times, and based on a specific motion sensor OR when we initiate “good morning” (generally via Alexa).
We’ve literally not had a single issue… other than when I’m an idiot and decide to take the trash out at 12am and forget to disarm, but that’s operator error and the alarm is working as it is supposed to!
I obviously don’t know how, but I’m guessing the Classic app is Somehow saving you from the misery.
I think that might change Oct 14th…again, just a guess.

LIKE is such a strong word. On a scale of root canal to colonoscopy, new app is somewhere in the middle.
I’m sure hoping that’s not the case! But yes, I guess we will see in a little over a month.
Thinking back, the other issue I had initially was with presence sensors on our phones, but that seems to have been resolved now - virtual switches that turn on/off when a phone is present/away fixed that.
It’s growing on me but it still has a lot of room for improvement. The lack of (or poor) integrations to third parties such as Amazon, Google, Eufy, Ring… is what I find more disappointing. As well as the lack of complex automations.
I like it. Using it together with webcore. Works with no problems. Even the presentsensor works for me after allowing the app to always work in the background.
I don’t mind the overall look of the new app, but the usability isn’t great. The tiles look nice but are so large if you have many devices it takes too long to find what you are looking for.
Also, customization is severely lacking. I wish I could change device icons, have many more scene icons, use custom wallpapers, etc.
Devices don’t seem to refresh their status in the app very fast upon opening it.
Wish there was a “Favorites” category for often-used devices.
That’s actually what the opening Dashboard is for. You can hide devices you don’t want, as well as Rooms. Long press on a device to “hide” it. Tap on the three vertical dots on the right next to the “+” and tap edit to remove Rooms and sort them.
Pretty straight forward right?

Sure, I see what your saying. Hiding is for sure helpful to lower the amount of devices on the dashboard.
But it doesn’t allow for a favorites group across rooms. I know I could make a (virtual) room called “Favorites”, but as far as I know a device can’t be assigned to two rooms at once, i.e. “Living Room” but also in a “Favorites” Room.
They have a Favorites grouping for Scenes like this, it would be nice to open that up to include devices as well, but allow the devices to also maintain their “Room” categorization.
I don’t consider myself to have a lot of devices compared to some people, but I have around 60. Organizational options are always good.
And I never said the app wasn’t easy to use or well-documented. But I maintain that there are UI things that could be improved to use the screen space better, and usability improvements that could increase customization and organization. Out of the box… it looks pretty… but functionality could be improved. My opinion of course but it seems many others feel the same way…
I find it rather nonsensical that hiding a ‘room’ also hides the ‘favourites’ from that room. Why? If you wanted that to happen you just wouldn’t make the device a favourite in the first place.
I want more wallpaper options… I can only take those few plants for so long.

We came home yesterday and all our codes fidnt work. App wouldn’t add them either. Had to add them manually. Any ideas?
You may want to provide more details. Model/brand of devices, type of device handler (custom or stock), using smart lock guest access or custom smartapp? You may also want to create a new thread as it doesn’t really fit well into this thread 
I HATE Samsung and their awful functionality when attempting to add a existing
hub to the new app. So NO I do not like the new app.
Short rant version: why am i now mostly staring at a plant FFS?
Long rant version: So… longstanding user of the ST hub (v2) here with a load of devices around the house 50+, some direct zigbee/ZW and some through other hubs like Hue and Honeywell etc etc. Whole load of community custom device drivers, WebCore pistons and the like, linked into other services via the prior SmartApps. Stuff running seems OK - no broken automations thankfully for now - but I guess that’s more the hub itself not the app.
The app… where do I start? My primary use case is to control devices and states via the app. For “reporting” I tend to use feeds to other dashboards. So what I really want is a bunch of critical state information from the hub and devices, plus the ability to hit buttons and change state on certain devices or run automations quickly. Simples right? Geez no.
OK so it looks much nicer than the old one. Lovely. But then I don’t go round showing my friends this or spending hours in the UX for pleasure. I want to use it to mostly quickly view and change critical state information across my IoT. Because its a smart home hub. Not my Flickr page.

USE OF SCREEN REAL ESTATE - insanely inefficient, 95% is background. Loads of white/colour space in each device, key info is tiny, as are control buttons. Home screen home monitor takes up ver half the screen, again mostly empty space. Totally nuts. Why not for starters at least provide an potion for how much “spacing” you prefer?

SCENES viewing scrolling through like the 20-30 I have grind it run slow - does anyone else get this? When I scroll though the section on how screen where all my ported scenes are, the interface turns to a crawl. This is on both iPad and super fast iPhone 11 Pro. It feels like 5-10fps.

ICONS - gone. For devices there’s a default icon. E.g. a contact switch looks like a physical contact switch. The icons were useful to distinguish other features .e.g. usage, location. Not customisable I think. Routines been replaced with Samsung’s star icon e.g. a All scenes the same now. Large star icon all the same so you can’t distinguish. With small text underneath. No config option. Edit: FOUND THE CONFIG FOR THIS - edit Scene then hold picture…
Seriously making me look at other hub solutions but I just love the customisation and community of the ST. OK I’m going to stop there - I’m bound to find out more as I go… only 1 day “converted”. At least my presence sensor in iPhone 11 Pro works. Not tried migrating my family older devices 8 & 6S… should I?
