Dimmer Switch for Low Voltage Magnetic Transformer

Yes, I’ve searched - there are couple topics but never a definitive answer and non in 2017. Can anyone recommend reasonable dimmer switch for LVM transformers?

Side note: I am testing Zooz ZEN22 and that one works (5 minutes only) even better than my specialty LVM dumb dimmer - the ZEN22 made the transformer buzz down to NONE. However, Zooz says “do not use our dimmers with transformers”.:frowning:

The Fibaro Dimmer 2 lists ferromagnetic transformers in their specifications as a supported load so you can give it a try: https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/products/fibaro-z-wave-plus-dimmer-2-fgd-212

The answer to my original question is:
Leviton DZ1KD-1BZ. It’s officially rated for LVM transformers and plenty of documentation about it.

In the install guide, it says you need to configure bulb type in programming mode - LVM Transformer is not listed. To save some’s time - you have to set it up as Incandescent load (default).

The dimmer doesn’t cause the transformer to buzz anymore than original (very low buzz).

This forum is for people who are using the Samsung smartthings home automation system.

The device you linked to is not even a smart device, and certainly doesn’t work with the Samsung platform, so it’s not relevant to the question.

Also, the thread you replied to is two years old, so presumably the OP has found a solution by now.
