I know there are changes to the platform, but I see devices that are working showing placeholder in devices on iDE. What do I have to do or is this normal?
Perfectly normal. The IDE is a tool for the legacy platform which only understands device type handlers for devices. Anything integrated on the current platform gets presented with a âplaceholderâ device type to keep it happy. The execution location doesnât carry over either.
Normal. They are either cloud to cloud integrations or using edge drivers. Donât do anything about it.

FAQ: Why does the IDE list âplaceholderâ for my device? Can I change that?
Thank you, hopefully everything I use will b emigrated over. Has this happened yet?
An increasing number of devices are being assigned to Edge drivers as new for all users. As far as I am aware automatic migration from old to new is still limited to a small group of users to build confidence in the process. On the face of it those particular users seem like those who are most likely to have already manually migrated but presumably ST have looked at the data.
As a rule of thumb, if you just installed devices via the app and they worked then ST will probably be as disappointed as you if they donât migrate over transparently. On the other hand, if you twiddled with devices using the IDE to make them work, including using custom drivers, then your mileage may vary.
Thank you, I guess I will wait and see,
