[DEPRECATED] Blink Camera Device Handler with Motion Sensor, Live Video Streaming, Integration with SmartThings/SHM, Temperature, Signals and Push Notifications

Hi @RBoy,

Just got everything working from the get go. The only issue is that I am having a problem adding the created Blink cameras to their respective room. When I edit the rooms in ST app and press the “+” sign next to the camera, I get an error and after I refresh the ST app, the device doesn’t appear in the room or the list of devices to be added to ST Room device list. Also, if this issue can be fixed, I want to have the Blink cam be able to set it as the Prefered device in the room; just like I can set my Samsung HD camera as a Room primary device.

See the instructions in the first post. The links are on the top row in the IDE

Probably a bug with the ST app (nothing to do with the code) you may want to report it to ST support
I can add it here on the iPhone and Galaxy S6 phones to the rooms

If I uninstall your app, in theory, the Blink camera devices will also be removed. Is this correct?

Yes, we’ve tested that also :slightly_smiling:
You won’t be able to uninstall it if the smartapps connected to your devices haven’t been removed, You need to remove all smartapps from the device before uninstalling it.

I just tried to reinstall your app after removing the cameras on my OnePlus One phone and reinstall the app via my IPhone and now the ST app crashes out.

@RBoy, the Blink management app works. The Blink camera devices are created. But when I try to add those devices to any of the room (irrespective of Androd or IPhone 5C) the room doesn’t save the camera properly and than it disappears from the Things tab and I can’t add it to the rooms.

I have the same issue. But it is not just the Blinks. It is also TCP bulbs and Bloomsky. Everything else is ok. Reported to ST support.

This is the first time I seen this. I was testing adding the Samsung HD cam to the rooms and had no problem in December.

First off I just want to say thank you for all your hard work!! I just received my 5 cameras yesterday and already have all my cameras in the house being turned on and off via rule machine yet still being able to leave my front porch on 24/7.

One thing I did notice is when I setup my Smart Home Monitor - Security app to look at all door contacts and all motion detector except the front porch I still get an intrusion alerts from the front porch. Is this suppose to be like this or am I missing something in my security app? This isn’t a huge issue just something I noticed and was wondering if I missed something or if it has to work like this because of how Blink is designed.

I’ve only had my SmartThings hub for 2 weeks so it is very possible I’m missing something and not setting my security app up right. But regardless keep up the great work!!!

PS: I’m still on version 3.0.2/3.0.0 but plan on updating tonight.

Did you enter ticket also? I just sent them an e-mail ticket. Hope they come back with a fix soon. LOL.

Report it to ST support phone app bug

Also, a small request.

Is it possible to have the Blink camer be able to add it as a Smart Home Monitor camera? That would be great to be able to select Blink as a camera.

Other than that. Great work on this!

Yes please update to the latest version. The bugs have been quashed

Not in my control. ST does not allow third party cameras.

Alright I will do that! Thanks for the quick response!!

@Tyler, Can you help us on this issue?

We need to integrate Blink camera device into ST so we can add it to Smart Home Monitoring.
@RBoy already did the work, all ST needs to do is let us use the camera in ST.
Please bring this up to the management. We don’t want the Samsung HD cam. It is not versatile of a product.

I reported it last night.

I’m sort of losing it here since I’ve access before but now all I see after I log to graph.api.smarthings.com is: My Locations My Hubs My Devices Documentation

I don’t see My Device Handler My SmartApps etc.

Did I miss a step?

I actually ended up just adding the motion sensor to the Smart Home Monitor - Security app and saving it to. Then removing it and saving and it seems to have fixed my issues.

Edit: Apparently I didn’t fix it… I updated my camera an hour later and got an intrusion alert. I’ll update everything tonight and see if that fixes my issues.

Think your rights as a dev may has been revoked, contact ST support.
