So in case I run out of things to do, I’ve been thinking that it shouldn’t be too complicated (def time consuming) to create a custom smartthings UI for iOS devices using Swift/xcode/json. anyone tried that?
We (ActionTiles.com) have been able to do it via a “web-app” (i.e., Javascript and various frameworks, and a bit of back-end handling for security reasons), so … yes, an iOS App is entirely possible.
But keep in mind that it will be more possible using the new API, rather than the current one.
Frankly, we expect a lot of folks will be experimenting and creating various unique UI’s for SmartThings once the new API stabilizes and catches on.
