@bobbles ok so changed it to this, and currently plug still off… its almost like it is waiting for a new temp or something to change before it will take action.
Both result with the same error.
How do I add the cancel on piston state change?
Scroll down to the bottom of the Task you’re creating and you’ll see the Task cancellation policy.
I think i have come across this before when yu define a rule and all conditions are true.
Change the time condition to start 3 or 4 mins in the future so that the piston changes to true and see if it works.
Then change the time condition to what you want.
Does it involve any time/date? Do you see any error message about time/date or something similar in live logging?
No to both. I am just trying to get my feet wet by creating a simple task. The only error that I get is 8690.
Maybe this is similar to the issue one of the members was having before, not sure where he saw the time/date reference but please go to your IDE, and check your location and verify you have you timezone/location set up properly.

Something i was just playing with was making a 2nd core using else if that would say if the time is not between 7am and 9am then next 2nd condition, if it is between that time it is true and turns off, and i put if bathroom door sensor is closed, and temp is below 69 turn on plug, else turn off plug, or i even could do else execute piston (the first one) so that it would … lol i could be seriously over complicating this one… so let me try your suggestion first, however when i did use the above as soon as I saved it the bahtroom plug kicked on, just had not tested it in reverse outside the time window to see if it would turn off…
Where is the timezone set? My coordinates are listed and correct but my time zone does not appear. Could this be the issue?
Not sure, have not messed with it before. First thing I’d try to do is adjust your geofence. I’m mobile 
I’m trying to get an alarm to play through my Samsung R1 when the SHM is set to armed/away and a door is opened. I’ve got this working if I use the Sonos play sound app, but I would like more control and want to use CoRE. For the life of me, I cannot get the sound to play and I suspect the problem is that I’m trying to play an mp3 file from a URL using “play track”. Any insight into why this might not be working properly?
CoRE is so damn popular that the staff at ST should really look at reimbursing the creator(s)!
The information regarding loops is not on the wiki so I would like to do the following:
start a loop for 3 cycles
wait 20 minutes send a push notification if the door hasn’t opened.
but if the door opens then break the loop and send a different notification.
Start the previous cycle over that triggered the loop action.
Here’s what I have. Should this work?
Like I said, it is currently set using the hosts local private address, Is there something I can do to test what is going wrong?
Is it possible when you have a piston finalized through getting help that you post some type of message like “WORKING”? I am know t very creative in coming up with use cases, but some times I read through here and see something that I think will benefit me, but I have to read 20 posts before it and another 20 after to ensure it is not something that is still being worked through. I know there is the wiki with about 10 or so examples which is awesome. Would be cool if all working pistons could get moved there.

I have a piston that turns on a switch that controls a heater inside my rain gauge whenever the outside temperature falls below 35 degrees fahrenheit.
In order to verify heater it is functioning I test the power draw and if it found to be 5 WATTS or less send a push notification.
The problem is I am getting a push notification even though the power draw is above 5 WATTS. This tells me the IF statement is failing. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I even checked the variable and it is clearly well above the limit.
I guess I need to look into that. I think this is not the first time that was reported… sorry
@ady624 could you look at my piston above. I am trying to figure out the loop functions and how to properly break the loop if the argument changes.
Trust me, I understand the frustration… Keeping the wiki up to date years a ton of hours… I wish more folks would get involved with it…
I have not done anything with the CoRE wiki in about two months simply because I’m trying to get an app finished and it is consuming all if my time…
But hopefully here soon most of the examples here are going to be irrelevant anyway!
Just keep searching and read a lot!
