Cheap Plugs? (UK) (zigbee or EU zwave)

Yes, TKBhome is zwave. Nice plug, bit on the big size.
In my case they’re a bit slow, but work very well.

Thanks. I havent bought the TKBHome, but i dont find them on the Smartthings App Market place, so how do i connect to the plug? thanks!

Just buy the plug, put it in pairing mode, search for Things in the app and it will find it as a zwave switch.

i see. Thank you… every plug is so expensive it feels like i have to understand it properly before purchasing
I read that the TZ69e meter doesnt work, is that true? Should I just stick with the TZ68?

Thanks

I understand, they’re all quite expensive.
I settled for the TZ68 because i didn’t really needed the power metering. I’m only switching lights.

The TKBhome switches are zwave and relatively cheap for zwave. I prefer zwave over zigbee, it feels more reliable somehow.

TZ69E works with the generic “Z-Wave Metering Switch”

The only issue I have is that by default these plugs habe a blue LED that is lit when off and not lit when on.

Other than that they work well. I have one on the tumble drier that I use to drive a CoRE piston that sends a notification when the cycle has finished.

I just bought 2 WR01ZE Z-Wave Smart Sockets (EU version) from Gearbest (link) They are about 25€ each.
Waiting for them to arrive and will provide feedback then.
They seem to be a copy of the Fibaro Z-Wave sockets, but half the price.

In case someone is interested, the device handler for this device is the same as that for the Dome On/Off Switch.

Hi yannick, does that Z-wave plug also display power consumption in SmartThings?

Best regards

Hi,

Yes it’s showing voltage, power consumption and amperage.

I am using the zwave greenwave outlet and for such price it seems so far so good with community written device handler

Also got the Z-wave plugs from Gearbest. Works very great with the Dome On/Off device handler. Thank you yannick

How is the power consumption shown? Can you make a screenshot?

I use the power nodes as well, bit bulky in size but there hidden away so no issue

if you buy 10 they work out at £17 each

Hi,

How well is this behaving ?

Thank you.
Daniel

This DTH that I created might be of some use to you who use the TKB TZ69E:

Are you incorporating the EU plug into the UK sockets using euro plug adaptors? Or have I misunderstood your application?

Michael

I know this topic hasn’t been updated for 8 months but wondered what people are using currently? I have some greenwave powernodes that are great but no stock anywhere. it looks like the next best is the tkb tz68e which works well as i have a couple but are more expensive.

any others i should know about?

I’m using the Salus SP600 they’re zigbee and very small.

They fit side by side on an extension cord.

Got them for 20£ each on ebay

These look good, thanks for the suggestion.

I have just ordered a 10 pack of TK68e from Vesternet for £250 so works out at £25 a plug and they work well…

Just trying to think of more things I can automate now
