Can your account or email be updated on your Smartthings Hub


Is it possible to update your current account/email with a different one? I am thinking of giving my current HUB to a family member and will purchase the new generation HUB a few months from now.

You cannot change it online, once that account is set it’s set. You’ll need to contact support and give them the new email address you want the account under. They were able to do this for me (I setup one for my sister in-law) within the same day.

“Yes, the hub you currently have can be re-gifted to a family member and used on a different account. All you would need to do is delete the location associated with hub on the account, and this will reset the welcome code.”
