Blinds routines add open or close option

Hello,
When you create a routine for blinds, you have to select if you want to open them, OR close them.
But it could be great if based on the state we could open or close them.
There is this option for lights, so it could be great to have it for blinds

Will not either of the following routine trigger options do what tou need?

or,

Yes this is it, but it is only a trigger, it could be great to have an action for this.

Lights, like switches, have a device status which is on or off.
Blinds, generally have no status but rely on a motor to turn in one direction or another. Just to complicate things they turn until the installler sets a ‘end of travel’ limit when the blind reaches its closed, or fully open state (which varies from one installation to another depending on the height of the window).
I believe Somfy, in the latest iO series with 868mhz RF control (not permitted in all countries) have made this a capability to control, although I’m out of this world for some time now so can’t be sure. The majority of blind/shutter tubular motor manufacturers however do not have this in their design.
Another very simple solution is to put a contact sensor to show when closed.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

So you have state trigger :+1: and action options of:

and,

or,

I think I may be misunderstanding your requirement

I would like for example that depending on the state of the blind, if it is open or partially open, clicking on a switch closes the blind. If the blind is closed in this case the blind opens by clicking on the same switch.
The problem is not the trigger, but the action. You can order opening, closing or pause. There is no action to open or close based on state, like what you have with lights

So 2 routines:

  1. If blind > 0 (open or partially open) & switch clicked then close blind

  2. If blind closed & switch clicked then open blind

Should meet the above requirements?

Yes, but can we make 2 routines like this ? I found no way to do one.

Well I guess it depends on your hub etc. but, yes, you can… speaking from a v2/3 hub PoV :+1:
