I’ve been looking for a sensor that I can use to detect activation of an existing hard-wired smoke alarm system in my home. I found one – http://www.encorecontrols.com/products.php – that works by detecting the audio alarm from the existing smoke detector.
Unfortunately, it looks like this product won’t be compatible with ST. Is anyone aware of a similar product that would work with ST?
@Rob, there are some iris smoke detectors that work with ST. ST is aware of when they go off.
The only downside is that ST can’t trigger them. There’s apparently regulations against that, I’d hoped to ‘wirelessly’ connect multiple smoke alarms and also use them as alarms for other events.
I know this isn’t what you are asking, but there are a few threads on monitoring a system electrically.
