Figured it out… feel stupid but this should not work the way it’s working. I have to hold the button down because it decreases the temp by half so instead of going from 70 to 69 it goes to 69.5. My furnace doesnt do half increments like that. I’m sorry but that should not be… even my ecobee thermostats dont do that.

Very frustrating UX. I asked internally and it’s a known issue with the plugin. If you tap the number you’ll get a popup with the option to set the temperature without it bouncing back.
