I’m trying to figure out the best way to allow a delay before triggering an alarm with SHM. I see there are various posts on this, but it looks like it has been about a year since the last one I found and I was hoping there might be a cleaner way to do it than what I found.
I really want to use SHM and not Smart Alarm, because I would like to take advantage of SHM’s integration with Arlo to record video footage when the alarm is triggered and save that within the Smartthings app.
Right now, I have an IFTTT trigger that lets me turn SHM on or off using Alexa. The problem is, by the time I enter the house and deactivate the alarm (or activate it and walk outside), the alarm is already going off as things are designed now.
Do I need to create a virtual device as some of the workarounds have mentioned? The one I found lacked the actual code for the virtual device – is there a good HOWTO that I could be pointed to?
Thanks so much!
