Aeotec SmartThings Hub (Discontinued Product at TSH)

According to the Smartest House, the hub has been discontinued.

I anticipate the next move is that Samsung will over time drop support for Zwave devices

Hardly a surprise, but pretty sad, nonetheless…

I suspect you’re correct, as the product emphasis seems to be away from Z-Wave.

Still for sale on the Aeotec web site.

Perhaps The Smartest House don’t want to sell it anymore now they have the Z-Box.

Or sales are so low it isn’t worth their time any more?

Amazon (US) still has it and the page says, “500+ bought in the past month.” Whether that’s real or not may be up for speculation…

That too.

They aren’t listed as a reseller on the Aeotec site.

I’m not sure “discontinued product“ means “discontinued by the manufacturer.“ It might just mean that the smartest House no longer intends to carry it. Understandable, since they have their own competing hub. :man_shrugging:t2:

Would have thought Aeotec would be the single point of truth and no mention of it being discontinued here:

Or here:

It is highly unlikely that Aeotec would discontinue the hub but not announce it themselves. It is much more likely that the Smartest House is simply discontinuing selling the Aeotec hub.

Sorry everyone… I edited the thread title to reflect it was a discontinued product at TSH and not a discontinued hub (at this time).

Aeotec SmartThings Hub Discontinued → Aeotec SmartThings Hub (Discontinued Product at TSH)

If this is correct that it’s simply that TSH has chosen to discontinue selling it, that is a poor way to communicate that fact rather than just pulling it from the product list. Or maybe it was intentional…

I miss the minimote. :cold_sweat:

Yeah. We have two of the original white-body units and, surprisingly, they both still work! Also four of the MultiSensor 6 which are a real workhouse.

Some of the MiniMote functionality can be duplicated with other devices, but darn! Those pesky little things are pretty convenient!

I found the Fibaro KeyFob to be a good replacement for some exhausted (broken) Minimotes. Form wise potentially not quite so convenient but 6 buttons vs. 4 and they work well…

5 IKEA Buttons: 48 €

I wish my damn nanomote quad would stop going offline!
