Whatever works.
Anyone having an issue with getting Alexa to fully connect after logging in Amazon to link things.
I had that initially and tried again and it worked. Keep in mind, you initiate Alexa routines from Alexaâs Smart Home preferences, not within the Yonomi app.
I basically need to turn on a power strip that is connect to a z-wave switch than needs to come on before I can start the Fire TV Activity. Currently I wrote a Smartthings app that does this with a delay on for the Harmony Activity. I cannot do that with the Harmony hub since I have the switch start before the activity.
Yonomi doesnât have any way to control zwave devices. Nor does it do two steps with a delay in between.
Thanks for that info @JDRoberts. That what I was trying to see if I could do.
There are some other pocket sockets you can use with Yonomi, in particular WeMo.
You can build a short delay into a Harmony activity with starting steps, it just depends on how long you need.

I emailed support about it. Itâs a bug theyâre looking into.
From Yonomi support
If you are controlling Yonomi routines via Alexa then the setup is complete. We realize this issue is causing confusion because we are unable to confirm that the account is connected, but in almost all cases it is. The next update of the app should make this less confusing.
Thanks man! That seems to have worked! Turning on Activities is working greatâŚhowever, how do you turn off? Do I need to setup a separate routine for Power Off and then do something like âTurn on System shutdownâ? Thereâs no way to do a âTurn off TVâ?
The quirkiness of Harmony integration! It took me forever to get used to it. You actually need to âstartâ activity to turn off your hub. The way I set up mine is a routine called TV (to power off hub) and then I have cable, dvd, Amazon tv, etc to turn on specific devices. So I tell Alexa âturn off TVâ or âturn on cableâ etc
Interesting idea, Iâll give it a shot! So to confirm, I create a routine with only âPower offâ on the hub. Name it TV, discover with Alexa and I should be able to âTurn off TVâ?
Yup, I did same thing works great. Although, I have Smartthings power off my tv when the house is empty and I always use the remote at night to shut it off since I am usually holding it.
One thing annoying about Yonomi is there is no way to turn on or off push notifications per routine as itâs all or nothing deal. I tweeted them the suggest to turn it on or off per routine like IFTTT allows. I am sure this is a pretty easy thing for them to allow.
Agreed. I turned notifications off wholesale but hoping they use your solution so I can turn some back on.
That is what I was saying, sorry for the confusion. However, the problem was I must have been using a reserved Alexa word. I tried âSystemâ, this way I just say âTurn off Systemâ. Nothing ever happened here. I swapped it to âEverythingâ and now it works without issue.
Thanks for the help!
Which gives me an idea. If you have an extra Wemo switch, in theory, we should be able to control August directly from Smartthings. Set the Wemo up as a blank operating condition and tie it into smartthings.
In Yonomi - IF Wemo turned on THEN lock the August Lock.
in Yonomi - IF Wemo turned off THEN unlock the August Lock
Now, of course, we can control the status of the Wemo switch in smartthings.
Essentially, weâd use the Wemo itself as a real life âvirtual switchâ to integrate the August Lock into Smartthings.
Thoughts?
(Edit: of course, in the above scenario we run the risk of the power going out and my front door unlocking, so you would probably want to reverse it. i.e., If Wemo is turned on then unlock)
WeMoâŚAugust
Clever!
It might work, I donât have the WeMo switch so I donât know whether it can work as the âifâ for yonomi or not. Hopefully someone who has one can report.
Iâve got one. Iâll try to test it out tonight and will report back! At least facially, the yonomi app allows the wemo switch status as the IF condition in the app. Fingers crossed!
A friend told me she talked to Amazon support today because sheâs been having some issues with the yonomi routines and they told her that it is not an authorized integration and itâs actually being looked into because Yonomi did manage to get it to list itself in the smart home devices section. And that sheâs not the only one who called in with problems.
So just be aware that itâs possible that they may lose the echo integration, or at least have to change it to a skill.
