vEdge Creator V2 - Virtual Thermostat

Hi,
Apologies if this is covered somewhere else but I’m not finding it.
I have a small outbuilding with a Z-Wave multi sensor and a space heater on a Z-wave outlet.
Currently I have a couple of simple routines on my V3 hub to switch the heater on and off against a hard coded temperature.set point. This does work but it’s not easily adjustable.
I’ve installed the vEdge Creator V2 and created a vEdge thermostat.
I have not been able to figure out how to get the temperature reading from the multi sensor into the thermostat so I can utilize an adjustable set point.
Perhaps I’m going about this all wrong, can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks
Bill

There are 2 approaches.

  1. If your sensor works with @Mariano_Colmenarejo 's “Z-wave sensor and child thermostat Mc” Edge driver, you can create a linked virtual thermostat using the settings menu.

  1. Use the Rules API to link your sensor to the virtual thermostat.

This looks promising, I’ll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks!

Thank You Paul_Oliver!

I followed solution #2 in your reply and it worked perfectly. Exactly what I was hoping for.
14 Degrees F. up here this morning and it’s holding my set-point.

Thanks again,

Bill

I am glad it worked.

Do me a favor and keep the 14°F up there.
