@joshua_lyon Per your advice to me some days back, I have uninstalled SharpTools and re-installed. The Unlockables show both as “owned”. But, I get this popup, which I take to mean that Tasker doesn’t think the widgets are available.
This is Tasker saying it doesn’t think the plugin is installed. This is happening before it even gets to SharpTools to evaluate the purchase/trial status. The SharpTools Tasker plugins are completely independent from the SharpTools Widgets… in a normal scenario, when the action gets to SharpTools the purchase/trial status will be checked and you would get a notification if the trial was expired and the IAP wasn’t owned.
The Widget and Tasker screens look really similar. The Widget screen has a label field and does not have the tag icon in the action bar.
Almost. It’s saying that Tasker doesn’t think the SharpTools Tasker plugin is available. The SharpTools package name in Android is com.boshdirect.stwidgets and the particular activity that is used by the SharpTools Tasker plugin A Thing is ThingShortcutActivity. These are internal IDs that Tasker uses to figure out which Android app and which specific activity it needs to call.
From what I recall of the last time this issue cropped up on your device, we had to manually recreate the SharpTools parts of the Tasker profile. I’m not sure why this is happening as it’s really a core part of Tasker, but I would try to recreate the SharpTools parts of the profile that are failing.
Also, can you confirm which version of Tasker and SharpTools you are running?
I saved my own profiles and completely uninstalled tasker (v4.8u5) and SharpTools (v2.2 R5). Reinstalled both from scratch, imported my old profiles and @ZebraBlinds versions from Post #51.
Ran “Recognize Devices”, this time with no errors. One test case of “OK Google” works (so nice to see the toast: Result Success). That’s good enough for me. Good night.
I am planning on adding a beta section to the original post. Also will have an updated version this weekend with percentages below 10 as well as the following type of phrases supported (hopefully):
“Set chandelier to 30% and family room shades to 60% and dim the kitchen to 40%”
So far its a bit quirky, I should have the kinks worked out soon.
I have an addition for you if you want to buy another tasker plugin. I completely forgot about this one that I used in my other voice profiles. I bought most of this guy’s plugins at one time or another. Some I use, others, not so much.
Using AUTOINPUT you can return to the previous screen (like using the back button) instead of going back to screen 0. It does other things too (simulates keyboard presses). It’s another very handy plugin for a $1.00 or so. See screenshot below as I used it in your profile. I just turned off your original screen 0 commands in case I had an issue.
The latest SharpTools 2.3 beta adds the ability to use Tasker variables for A Routine. There are a number of other changes included in this beta release - particularly some major changes to the push events, so try it out and let me know how it works for you.
Slightly late but a much awaited beta should be up this week. Will run routines, and work with open/close. Also possibly end up turning everything on and off like last time
The current version is working well, Neal. I use it several times a day. Thought you would like some long term feedback.
I did end up adding 10 of my old profiles to control my routines and my garage doors until you get your new beta done.
If I could figure out what you did, I would just modify your existing profile to handle the routines. I’m not very good at complex thoughts anymore. Everything I write is pretty simple these days.
Thanks for all you have done. It was enough for me to bypass the $120 echo on prime day. Now I can buy something else instead.
