Set-Up Upgraded Home Automation System (Paid Help Needed) (July 2025)

I’m an old guy of 78 years. We recently completed a major home renovation which resulted in expanding my Smartthings home automation system, that now needs to be set up. Although I have been using Smartthings for several years, I feel it would be overwhelming to do it on my own. I am looking for someone who can help me with this on a paid (fair) basis. This is a brief overview of my system that needs to be programmed:
• Lighting: About 35 mostly Z-wave switches and dimmers,
• An Ecobee thermostat with remote sensors;
• An August automated lock system;
• A Ring doorbell and security system;
• 2 Garage door openers (with automation features);
• Alexa App;
• I have five 10” wall-mounted Amazon Fire tablets throughout the house, that I’d like to utilize for home automation purposes. I also have Action Tiles on my system. We can determine how best to use the tablets.

Please let me know if you, or someone else you can recommend, would be interested in helping me with this. Please also include your related interests, qualifications and arrangement that works for you.
I welcome all comments and suggestions.
Regards,
Robert

Congratulations on the renovation!

The home automation setup will probably have to be done locally, so we need to know what city you are in unless you think you can do all of the physical work yourself (or have someone else who can be in your home to do it.) and just work on a zoom call with someone who knows SmartThings. :thinking:

Also, what’s the brand and model of the garage door controllers?

Thank you for your thoughtful comments / suggestions, JD Roberts. Most of the hardware is already installed. I can likely handle any additional physical work that may be required. So working remotely to do the setup and programming should work well.

My garage door openers are Liftmaster 84505R beltdrive openers.

BTW, I’m in Toronto, Canada.

Hi Robert,

I have worked with similar setups and can help you get everything running smoothly without overcomplicating it. I also have experience configuring tablets with ActionTiles and setting up voice control.
