Multiple speakers to be used for security

The strimlight is on the list of speakers confirmed to work with SmartThings by community members. It’s rather expensive, though, if all you want is voice announcements.

Cheap standalone DLNA speaker?

Continuing the discussion from Working Speakers List (13 Devices Confirmed) so as not to clutter that list: How do you define “cheap”? The Sony SRS X7 is a really nice Bluetooth and DLNA speaker at just under $200 new, or around $120 refurbished. anything cheaper than that is not going to have the same kind of sound quality. The striimlight light bulb runs around $120, and that’s light and speaker. But if I was buying it for the speaker, I’d buy the Sony. Has anyone tried it with the DLNA renderer?
